PAOK easily defeated Panathinaikos 0-3 set in Athens and swept their rivals 3-0 in the series to qualify for this year’s Greek Volley League Playoff Finals.
It was due or die today for Panathinaikos in Athens as they hosted PAOK in game 3 of the Greek Volley League Playoff Semi-finals. However, PAOK dominated the play and came away with a rather easy victory in the end.
In neither of the three sets did Panathinaikos pose a threat to the Dikefalos tou Vora as they fell 16-25, 19-25, and 15-25, losing the match 0-3 set.
The 3-0 series sweep sends PAOK to the Greek Volley League Finals for yet another where they will meet Olympiacos, who swept Pamvohaikos in the other semi-final. The matchup will be a repeat of the 2015 Finals where PAOK defeated Olympiacos to celebrate the League Title.
A reminder that PAOK are the defending champions, defeating Foinikas Syrou last season, and will look for the 3-peat when they play Olympiacos in the best of 5 series. The Erythrolefki finished first in the regular season and will have home court advantage in the series.
