PAOK Take Control of Playoff Table
GREEK superleague playoffs - MATCHDAY 4

|Risvanis (og) 14'|
PAOK moved two points clear at the top of the SuperLeague playoff table on Wednesday courtesy of a hard-earned 0-1 win over Panionios in Nea Smyrni.
A first-half own goal by Panionios defender Spiros Risvanis proved the difference between the two teams on the night, with PAOK enjoying the lion’s share of possession and chances against the Panthers.
Panionios, who were missing influential midfielders Manolis Siopis and Masoud Shojaei, struggled to contain PAOK’s midfield trio of Djalma Campos, Diego Biseswar and Pedro Henrique.
It was PAOK who made the early running and their attacking intent was rewarded in the 14th minute when Aleksandar Prijović’s perseverance with a run and cross ended with Risvanis turning the ball past his own goalkeeper Giorgos Bantis.
Bantis prevented PAOK from going 2-0 ahead shortly afterwards with a smart save from Gojko Cimirot, before the home side responded and almost drew level.
El Fardou Ben Nabouhane, on loan from Olympiacos, had a great chance to score when he was sent clean through on goal, but PAOK keeper Panagiotis Glykos saved well.
The tempo of the match dropped significantly in the second half, with neither side able to create clear scoring chances as errors began to creep into the play. Having said that, PAOK could have made it 2-0 with 16 minutes left had it not been for Bantis, who made a superb save from visiting midfielder Dimitris Pelkas.
