Prijović was in a battle with Olympiacos striker, Karim Ansarifard, to become the league’s top scorer, with both players tied with 17 goals scored going into the league’s final fixture. Ansarifard was unable to get on the scoresheet in Olympiacos’ 3-0 defeat to PAS Giannina as Prijovic prevailed in the end with the honor.

Prijović finished the season with 19 goals from 27 league appearances. The statistics show that Prijović was able to capitalise and score 1 goal per every 2.8 attempts, an impressive statistic to say the least.

The 28-year-old became just the third player in PAOK’s history to win the league’s top scorer award and joined the likes of Dimitris Salpingidis and Dimitris Nalitzis. He has also become the first PAOK player in 12 years to secure this achievement.

Dimitris Salpingidis was the second PAOK player to win the golden boot and did so during the the 2005-06 campaign with 17 goals. Dimitris Nalitzis finished as the A’ Ethniki’s top scorer for the 1999-00 season with 24 goals, but scored 13 of his goals for Panionios in the first half of the season before making the switch up north to score an additional 11 goals for PAOK.
