PAOK tallied up 21 wins throughout the Super League campaign and could have added to that, had the two home matches against Olympiacos and AEK not ended in 0:3 defeats after controversial events halted play. The Dikefalos tou Vorra registered the largest amount of away wins in the club’s history, also winning every game in Thessaloniki in all competitions despite having to play 10 games at the Toumba Stadium behind closed doors. PAOK boasted the longest winning streak with 15 consecutive victories, later winning the Greek Cup with a hard-fought 2:0 triumph against rivals AEK.

Individual Achievements

Aleksandar Prijović:

The 28-year old Serbian hitman set the benchmark, bagging an incredible 19 goals in 28 games to take the title of the Super League’s top scorer. Alongside those markers in the championship, Prijovic pocketed six Greek Cup goals in as many games en-route to the trophy. Taking into account the UEFA Europa League qualifiers, Prijovic netted 27 goals in 38 appearances in a memorable campaign.

Dimitris Pelkas:

Pelkas, who is in contention to be named the Super League’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), took a leading role in midfield with eight goals and seven assists. The young playmaker is a real fans’ favourite in Thessaloniki, especially after he celebrated passionately with PAOK’s supporters in Athens after scoring the second in the Greek Cup final. Statistically, this was without doubt Pelkas’ best season to date and he possesses the potential to grow into Greece’s top midfielder.

Alexandros Paschalakis:

PAOK goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis transformed into the season’s revelation, springing off the bench to become one of the Super League’s stand-out goalkeepers after beginning the campaign as the club’s number two. He made his debut in a 3-0 away win against Xanthi, a performance which earned him a contract extension until 2020. The 28-year-old has now made himself PAOK’s starting goaltender ahead of Rodrigo Rey and set the club’s record for most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal - 1008. In 20 matches, he gained a fantastic 13 clean sheets.

Leo Matos:

Leo Matos enjoyed another excellent season for PAOK, with the 32-year old right-back achieving a career high of eight assists in all competitions. The Brazilian proved he’s got a scoring touch too, hitting the back of the net on seven occasions when bursting forward.
