27-year old defender Miranda only signed for Wolverhampton in July 2017, but after helping the club earn promotion to the English Premier League, he has been offloaded to Olympiacos. On Wednesday afternoon, the Piraeus outfit confirmed the deal with this following statement on their social networking platforms:
“Roderick Miranda welcome to Olympiacos!”
Olympiacos have not made any details of the transfer public, but according to various reports, Miranda has joined the Thrylos on a one-year loan from Wolverhampton with a release clause which Olympiacos can activate in 2019. Miranda’s value is rated at 2.5 million by Transfermarkt.
As a youth player, Miranda came through the ranks at Benfica, later shifted out on two loans with Servette and Deportivo. In 2013, he moved to Rio Ave, before transferring to Wolverhampton for three million in summer 2017. During the 2017/2018 campaign, Miranda made 17 appearances in the English Championship.
Miranda has also represented various Portuguese youth national teams.
