Despite their struggles in domestic derbies this season, Olympiacos appeared to turn the page against Aris on Monday as the Piraeus giants cruised to an 86-66 win over their Thessaloniki rivals.
Nine of those points came from Georgios Printezis, and while the Greek international didn’t lead his side to victory against Aris, Printezis overtook former Olympiacos player and current assistant coach, Milan Tomic (2,911 points), as Olympiacos’ all-time leading scorer in the Greek Basket League.
Printezis now sits at 2,913 points for Olympiacos in the Greek Basket League, while he also tallied a further 299 points during his one-year loan spell at Olympia Larissa during the 2006/2007 season.
Printezis is now well on his way to become the first player to surpass 3,000 points in an Olympiacos jersey, a feat that could be achieved before the end of this season.
Now, Printezis will be hoping to turn individual accolades into team accolades as he looks to lead Olympiacos to their first Greek Basket League title since the 2014/2015 season.
