Printezis Named to All-Euroleague Team
Georgios Printezis was named to the All-Euroleague Team for the 2016/17 season, receiving this honor for the first time in his career.
Georgios Printezis has had an impressive season with Olympiacos in the Euroleague helping the Erythrolefki reach the Final-4 for the 10th time in the club’s history. Printezis averaged 12.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1 assist per game this season.
As a result, the Greek forward was named to the All-Euroleague Team for the 2016/17 season and was recognized as the best forward (#4 position) in the competition for the first time in his career. He joined the likes of Sergio Llull, Nando de Colo, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Epke Udoh as this year’s All-Euroleague Team.
Surprisingly, Olympiacos’ Vassilis Spanoulis and Panathinaikos’ Chris SIngleton were left out of both the All-Euroleague Team first and second teams, despite their good season with their respective clubs. The All-Euroleague second (backup) team consisted of Milos Teodosic, Brad Wanamaker, Nicola Melli, Bryant Dunston, and Gustavo Ayon.
Printezis is the sixth Greek player and first Greek forward to be named to the All-Euroleague Team after Theodoros Papaloukas (2), Dimitris Diamantidis (4), Vassilis Spanoulis (3), Yiannis Bourousis, and Sofoklis Schortsanitis.
