Georgios Printezis will stay put! The Olympiacos forward renewed his contract with the club until 2020 after today’s 2.5 hour meeting with the Aggelopoulos brothers. Printezis’ previous contract ended this season and he was a hot target free-agent for many European clubs. However, the 32-year old clearly wanted to stay in Piraeus with Olympiacos, the club he has grown to love since his first steps as a professional player.
After completing the deal, the Olympiacos vice-captain spoke with reporters saying “I feel very good. We spoke for a long time. We had you all out in the sun and we thank you all for waiting. We had a very good conversation and we surely understand the mistakes we made to finish the season without a title. I was very pleased with the way we talked. We agreed to a deal almost instantly for the next three years and we are again together. For me it is of great joy because as the way things look, I will end my career here.”
According to sportfm.gr, after his comments with reporters Printezis returned to the offices of Olympiacos BC and broke into tears of joy. A true feeling of what Olympiacos means to Georgios Printezis.
