It looks as if Bosnia coach Mehmed Bazdarevic was troubled after his side’s goalless draw against Greece in matchday six of FIFA World Cup qualifying, failing to defeat the Greek team yet again.
In a post game interview Bazdarevic stated “We knew that the Greek players play hard, and let me say dirty. Two of our players are in the hospital [Lulic, Sunjic]. We needed to break down their defense, but we did not succeed. We lacked the finishing touch, although we created chances. The referee was also not normal. He should of at least given us one penalty which would have been enough for us to win.”
Edin Visca was also troubled with the result stating “The Greeks played very dirty. Just their goalkeeper alone stole 10 minutes with his time wasting. We had some chances, but we could not make the most of them. We must play a lot better in the future if we want to qualify.”
In the post game press conference, Michael Skibbe was asked about Bazdarevic’s comments but the German coach did not want to add more fuel to the fire. He said “I want to say that I respect Bazdarevic and I wish Lulic a speedy recovery. On the pitch, there was a great contest but I do not believe we played dirty. We are happy with the result, even though Bosnia pressed high and pressured us.” He also commented on the post game incidents stating that he did not see what happened, but knows that Gianniotas lost 1-2 teeth and that the actions from Bazdarevic’s assistant were wrong.
