Race for Greek top scorer heating up
As the 2017/2018 Super League season approaches the home stretch, it isn’t only the title race which is heating up.
After 21 rounds, Olympiacos’ Karim Ansarifard and PAOK forward Aleksandar Prijovic are locked on 13 goals each, both involved in an exciting battle to become the Super League’s top scorer. PAS Giannina’s Pedro Conde, recently profiled in the AGONAsport spotlight series, isn’t far behind with 11 markers to his name.
Ansarifard has burst into life for Olympiacos this season, scoring an impressive 13 goals in just 17 Super League appearances and proving to be one of the club’s few bright points in a disappointing campaign. PAOK’s Serbian sniper Prijovic is a big reason why the Dikefalos are top of the table, scoring a number of vital goals. Spaniard Conde has already scored nine goals in 2018, sparking talk of a possible transfer to a different club.
Trailing the top three are Xanthi’s Erik Jendrisek (eight goals), AEK pair Marko Livaja and Sergio Araujo (both seven goals), Michalis Manias of Asteras Tripolis (seven goals) and Olympiacos midfielder Konstantinos Fortounis (seven goals).
