A late second half comeback was enough to book Levadiakos’ place in the knockout stages of the Greek with a 1-2 victory over Apollon Pontou in Thessaloniki. The first half saw both clubs create chances, but neither team found the breakthrough. The Football League side, who only needed a win to progress to the next round, opened the scoring 10 minutes after the restart with Samaras. The Nea Smyrni side, who had already secured their place in the next round, finished second in the group with four points, tied with Aris, but held the head-to-head tiebreaker advantage.
