Roma and Zenit agree to deal for Manolas
According to Sky Italia, Roma and Zenit have agreed to a €40 million deal for Kostas Manolas!
It looks as if Kostas Manolas will be playing in Russia next season. After days of bargaining between Roma and Zenit, it appears that the two sides have come to an agreement for Manolas’ move to Saint Petersburg.
According to Sky Italia, the deal will close at Roma’s original asking price of €40 million. Zenit began negotiations on Thursday at €25 million, then increased their offer to €30 million with Roma unwilling to sell the player for such a low cost. After Zenit’s increased bid of €35 million was also denied, the Russians were forced to offer €40 million, an amount that Roma has agreed to.
Zenit are looking to not only acquire the Greek defender from Roma, but are also close to signing Leandro Paredes from the Italian side in a package deal for an additional €25 million.
A reminder that Manolas has already agreed to terms with Zenit for a 4-year contract and annual earnings of €4 million, a raise from his €1.5 million a year at Roma. The deal is expected to be officially announced in the coming days as Manolas will travel to Saint Petersburg to pass the necessary medical tests and sign his new golden deal with Zenit.
