The final rosters for the 2018 Greek Basket League All-Star Game have been revealed, with the Eternal Rivals, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos, well represented among the 24 players named to the showdown in Patras.

In what will be a showdown between Greek Stars and World Stars, 13 players between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos were named to the mid-season classic; including Panathinaikos’ James Gist, who led all players with 10,163 votes.

Nikos Calathes was the leading vote-getter for the Greek Stars as he received 9,651 votes, while teammate Thanasis Antetokounmpo followed closely with 9,256 votes.

Olympiacos’ Georgios Printezis was the leading vote-getter from the Piraeus giants as he will be joined by Kostas Papanikolaou and Vassilis Spanoulis on the Greek Stars, while Nikola Milutinov leads a trio of Olympiacos players on the World Stars team.

Sofoklis Schortsanitis, who made a return to the Greek top flight with Trikala this season, was named to the Greek Stars team with 4,421 votes; however, the former Greek international was replaced by Ian Vougioukas on the Greek Stars roster due to an injury that has kept him sidelined since his season debut in the Basket League.

Kymis’ Thad McFadden was the leading vote-getter among players not from the Eternal rivals, while PAOK’s Phil Goss was remarkably snubbed of a spot on the World Stars roster.

Panathinaikos’ Xavi Pascual will be joined by PAOK’s Ilias Papatheodorou as the coaches for the Greek Stars, while Olympiacos’ Yiannis Sfairopoulos and Aris’ Panagiotis Giannakis have been named coaches of the World Stars.

The Basket League All-Star Game is scheduled for tip-off at Patras’ Dimitris Tofalos Arena on 11 February.
