Siovas completes move to Leganes
Dimitris Siovas is officially a player of Spanish side Leganes.
On Monday, Leganes announced the signing of Greek defender Dimitris Siovas from Olympiacos. The 28-year old signed a 4-year deal until 2021 and will earn roughly €1 million a year in Spain. Olympiacos will receive €3 million for Siovas’ transfer and hold a 20% re-sale fee if Siovas transfers to another club in the future.
Siovas played with Leganes since January on a loan deal from Olympiacos. The Greek defender quickly earned a place in the club’s starting line-up, helping the team avoid relegation to the Spanish second division. His great performances with the club did not go unnoticed and he was considered one of the team’s most valuable players this season. He also won the hearts of the supporters and instantly became a fan favorite.
Siovas departs Olympiacos after a five year stay with the Greek champions with hopes of continuing where he left off in the Spanish top flight. With Leganes having spent over €7 million for the player, the club will look at Siovas as a key asset in their fight to stay in the Spanish la Liga again next season.
