Skibbe content with draw
Greece boss Michael Skibbe was delighted with the result, but disappointed not to have taken the three points.
“I’m happy that we achieved our primary target which was to get a draw. Having said that it doesn’t stop me from feeling disappointed and unlucky that we did not take all three points with the chance Mantalos had to score. On the other hand, the Bosnians also had a couple of chances late on so I can’t complain too much.”
“The key tonight for me were the performances of Kostas Manolas and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, both were tremendous in marshalling the defence. I must also mention Zeca, who played a great match and kept the threat of [Miralem] Pjanic to a minimum, this was important in helping us get this result we wanted so much.”
Greece captain Vasilis Torosidis insisted that despite the result, nothing was done and dusted.
“It’s definitely a great result for us but we know, as everyone else does, that nothing is over yet. We are the favourites to get at least second place, but we still need to do the hard work of winning the matches. We have three home games in the last four matches so we should be confident that we can do it.”
