Skibbe: “Proud of My Players, Tachtsidis’ Sending Off Was the Wrong Decision.”

In a post game interview, Skibbe expressed that he was proud of his players but was unhappy with the result based on how the game turned out. He also mentioned that Tachtsidis’ sending off was the wrong call.

When asked about the 1-1 draw with Belgium, Skibbe responded “No, No. I am not happy with the draw. First, I want to wish Xronia Polla to all the Greeks for today’s National Holiday. It is unfortunate that we did not get the win today, even though we came so close. We wanted it for the Greek people. The way the game went, the draw seems like a defeat. It was the same with Bosnia.”

About Tachtsidis’ sending off, Skibbe expressed his frustration saying “I am not happy with Tachtsidis’ sending off. The first card was correct, however the second yellow was not and that gave Belgium the man advantage.”

When asked how he will replace the suspended players against Bosnia, Skibbe stated “Until Bosnia we have a lot of time to see how we are going to replace Tzavellas and Tachtsidis. We have many good players. We will replace these good players with others. I want to congratulate my team from the bottom of my heart for their performance. We should all be proud of our players today.”
