Kostas Sloukas will be hoping to become a EuroLeague Champion for the second consecutive season when he leads his Fenerbahce side in Sunday’s Final against Real Madrid.

The Greek international, who won his third EuroLeague title last season after helping Fenerbahce triumph in the Final over Olympiacos, chipped in 16 points in Friday’s semifinal win over Zalgiris Kaunas at Belgrade’s Stark Arena.

Sloukas, who won back-to-back titles with Olympiacos in 2012 and 2013, will look to repeat as champion for the second time in his career as Fenerbahce look to add to what has been an impressive 24 months for the Turkish giants.

Sloukas and Fenerbahce won’t have an easy route to glory as the titleholders will face Real Madrid in Sunday’s showcase after the Spanish side outlasted Dimitris Itoudis’ CSKA Moscow in the other semifinal on Friday.

CSKA, who finished the regular season with the best overall record, were made to pay for terrible performances in the second and third quarter as the Russian giants were outscored 43-26 during that span.

Real Madrid, who defeated Panathinaikos in the playoff round to book a ticket to Belgrade, were led by teenage sensation Luka Doncic as the Slovenian tallied 16 points to co-lead Madrid in scoring along with Sergio Llull.

A Real Madrid win on Sunday will further extend the Spanish side’s dominance in the tournament historically as the Spanish side would clinch their tenth title all time. A loss for Real Madrid would also be historic as the Spanish side would join Maccabi Tel Aviv for the most runner-up finishes with nine should Madrid fail to dethrone Fenerbahce.

Prior to Sunday’s Final, CSKA will tackle Zalgiris to determine the consolation winner though all eyes will be on the nightcap at the Stark Arena.
