After a one year stay with Spanish side Andorra, Thanasis Antetokounmpo will return to Greece for Panathinaikos. The 25-year old forward signed a 2-year deal with the Prasini on Tuesday.

Antetokounmpo began his club career with Filathlitikos before joining Zografou in the A2 Basket League for the 2012/13 season. In 2013, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers B-team, the Delaware 87ers, in the NBDL where he ended the 2013/14 season averaging 12 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.1 APG, 1.2 SPG, and 1.3 BPG in 50 matches while being named to the league's All-Defensive third team.

He was selected as No. 51 to the New York Knicks in the 2014 NBA draft before moving to the Westchester Knicks, competing in the NBA Development league for the next two seasons. He did manage to make a debut in the NBA with the New York Knicks in 2014 against Phoenix Suns, signing a 10-day contract before returning back to the NBDL side.

Last summer, he returned back to Europe for Spanish side Andorra where he finished the season averaging 7.8 PPG and 3.8 RPG.

He made his debut with Greece’s national team last summer in the Pre-Olympic tournament and has been called up to Greece’s squad for the upcoming Eurobasket.
