In addition to Konstantinos Laifis, whose rights were bought by Standard Liege, many Olympiacos players on loan will not be returning to Piraeus for the new season. First and foremost is Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike, the club’s most expensive paid player who not only failed to impress with the Reds, but turned out to be one of the club's worst signings in recent years. Emenike went on loan to Las Palmas in January and failed to make an appearance for the club after creating many problems with the Spanish side (failed to give it his all at practice, complained of being tired to train, accused of being overweight etc).
Along with Emenike, Gianniotas, Martines, Goutas, and Vukovic will also be released or transferred out of Olympiacos. Zdjelar was sold to Partizan last week while Laci and Karageorgis will also depart the club. Both Karamonos and Vergos’ contracts with the Erythrolefki will be terminated and the players will look for the next stop in their careers.
