Apollon Smyrnis seem unstoppable after earning yet another victory in this year’s Football League, this time defeating Kissamikos. The hosts were troubled for 75 minutes before Diamantopoulos struck 15 minutes from time to give his side the 1-0 win, keeping the club atop the Superleage standings three points ahead of Lamia and 9 points ahead of Aris.

A 40th minute penalty by Vasilogianis was enough for Lamia to earn all three points at home to Panegialios. The win keeps Lamia in the second and final promotion spot, six points ahead of third placed Aris.

Aris had a rather easy night at the Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium against Kallithea, coming away with a 3-0 win. Dounis opened the scoring in the 8th minute before Tzanakakis and Sousa’s second half goals wrote the final score. The result, however, did not cut Aris’ six point gap between second placed Lamia, who also won over the weekend.

A stellar first half performance gave OFI an easy 4-0 win over Agrotikos Asteras in Crete. The hosts scored four goals in the opening half with Pangalos (twice), Manos, and Mitropoulos finding the back of the net. The win keeps OFI’s slim hopes for promotion alive as they trail second placed Lamia by 11 points.

Aiginiakos jumped out of the relegation zone with a 1-3 win away to Kalloni, who are now in serious relegation trouble. The win moves Aiginiakos into 14th place with 24 points while Kalloni are 16th with 19 points.

Panelefsiniakos’ hopes for a great escape were given a boost with an impressive 1-0 win over Anagennisi Karditsas. Despite the result, the team from Elefsina are still bottom of the table with 17 points.

In other action, Trikala continued their great season with a 1-0 win over Sparti while Acharnaikos gained much needed breathing room from the drop zone with a 2-1 win at home against Panserraikos.

Chania were awarded all three points against Panthrakikos.
