Since returning from a loan spell at Willem II, Tsimikas has been excellent for Olympiacos, participating in 16 matches in all competitions and contributing with two assists. In late 2018, he was mainly left on the bench with Leonardo Koutris given the nod in his position, but the Olympiacos management is known to have huge faith in Tsimikas. As a result, the 22-year old was offered a new deal at the Erythrolefkoi, with Tsimikas agreeing to sign the contract which keeps him at Olympiacos until 2023.

Tsimikas’ value is rated at 1.75 million by Transfermarkt. In the autumn, Tsimikas made his senior debut for the Greek national team, and it’s expected that he will be a key part of Angelos Anastasiadis’ plans for the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

CELTIC AFTER ELABDELLAOUI

Norwegian right back Omar Elabdellaoui, who has shone for Olympiacos in the current campaign, initially attracted from Southampton and is now wanted by Scottish giants Celtic.

According to reports, Olympiacos received a bid of five million euros from Celtic for Elabdellaoui, but if the Greeks are to think about selling the 27-year old, they want at least double that figure. This season, Elabdellaoui has been superb for Olympiacos on the right side of defence, bursting up and down the flank with energy and commitment.

In 13 Super League matches, the Norway international has registered an impressive two goals and four assists.

ATHANASIADIS WANTED FROM ASTERAS

When he joined from FC Porto on loan, Jose Sa was assumed to fit into the role of back-up goalkeeper to Andreas Gianniotis, but after the latter made a handful of blunders, the 25-year old became the number one and hasn’t looked back. Unhappy with his status within the club. Gianniotis could leave Olympiacos, and the Thrylos are eyeing up Asteras Tripolis’ Giorgos Athanasiadis as a replacement.

Over the years, Athanasiadis has been a key figure for Asteras between the sticks, but he’s struggled this season and spends the majority of his time on the bench. Nevertheless, Olympiacos are interested in taking Athanasiadis to Piraeus, where he will also be second choice behind Sa.

Overall, Athanasiadis, 25, has competed in seven matches for Asteras Tripolis in the 2018/2019 season, conceding 13 goals in those games. Nikos Papadopoulos is now generally considered the starting Asteras goalkeeper.

OLYMPIACOS FOLLOWING ANDRE ALMEIDA

Another linked with Olympiacos in recent reports is Benfica right back Andrei Almeida.

In Lisbon, Almeida is under contract at Benfica for another two years, but rumours in the media suggest that the 28-year old wouldn’t be against a move to Olympiacos. The Erythrolefkoi are keeping a close eye on Almeida, but it’s widely assumed that Olympiacos will only make a move for the player if Elabdellaoui is sold for a large sum of money.

Transfermarkt state that Almeida’s worth stands at seven million. In the 2018/2019 campaign, Almeida has participated in 30 games across all competitions for Benfica, popping up with one goal and five assists.
