The postseason for the 2017/18 Greek Volley League is underway which will decide which team will be crowned this season’s champions and which team will join Panachaiki in relegation to the second division. 

The Playoffs consist of the top eight teams from the regular season. Listed in order from the regular season standings they include: Olympiacos, PAOK, Foinikas Syrou, Iraklis, Kifisias, Iraklis Chalkidas, Ethnikos Piraeus, and Pamvohaikos. The matchups in the quarter-final stage of the competition include 1vs8, 2vs7, 3vs6, and 4vs5 and will be played in a best of three series (first to record two wins). The higher ranked teams will enjoy home court advantage.  

Playoff Quarter-Final matchups: 

Olympiacos - Pamvohaikos (Olympiacos lead 1:0)
PAOK - Ethnikos Piraeus (PAOK lead 1:0)
Foinikas Syrou - Iraklis Chalkidas (Foinikas lead 1:0)
Iraklis - Kifisias (Kifisias lead 1:0)

The semi-finals will consists of a best of five series and will include the following matchups: 

Winner Olympiacos/Pamvohaikos vs Winner of Iraklis/Kifisias
Winner of PAOK/Ethnikos Piraeus vs Winner of Foinikas Syrou/Iraklis Chalkidas

Olympiacos, who finished the season undefeated, and regular season runner-ups, PAOK, are the two favorites to advance to this year’s Volley League Finals (best of five series). 

The Playouts will decide which team will be relegated to the second division along with Panachaiki, who finished in last place in the regular season (automatically relegated). It will consist of three teams placed 9-11 from the regular season, Niki Aiginio, Ethnikos Alexandroupolis, and Panathinaikos. 

The teams will play in a group stage format and will play each team in home and away fixtures. The last placed team after four fixtures will be relegated to the A2 Volleyball League. Based on their regular season results, Niki Aiginio will begin with two points while Ethnikos Alexandroupolis and Panathinaikos will begin with zero points.

Panathinaikos 0 pots

*Ethnikos Alexandroupolis defeated Niki Aiginio on Wednesday in matchday 1 of the playouts.
