Vukovic to Olympiacos
Olympiacos have completed the signing of Jagos Vukovic.
Olympiacos’ signing spree of late continued on Thursday after the Erythrolefki announced the signing of Jagos Vukovic. The Serbian defender will quickly travel to Belgium to join the rest of the team in pre-season training as Hasi is expected to integrate the 29-year old into the team’s starting XI for the upcoming Champions League qualifiers.
Vukovic began his professional career in 2005 with Red Star Belgrade before moving to Serbian side, Rad, one year later where he made 83 appearances (5 goals) in three years with the club. The defender then joined PSV Eindhoven from 2009-2013, enjoying a loan spell at Roda JC from 2011-2012, but only made 36 appearances and scored three goals in his four years in Holland.
He returned to Serbia for Vojvodina in 2013 for one season before enjoying three good years in Turkey with Konyaspor. With the Turkish club he made 87 appearances, scored 9 goals, and celebrated one Turkish Cup title.
Vukovic, who has six caps for the Serbian national team, will likely be Olympiacos’ last signing before the club plays in the UEFA Champions League 3rd qualifying round at the end of the month.
