The Eurobasket 2017 tournament will consist of 24 teams and is separated into two rounds: the Group stage and the knockout stages. The group stages will be played in four different countries (each group in a different country) including Turkey, Romania, Finland, and Israel. The knockout stages will be played in Turkey.

  • Group Stages: The 24 teamed are separated into 4 groups of 6 teams each. Each teams plays the others once totaling five games per team in the group stages. The top four teams from each round will advance to the knockout stages. Below is the tie-breaker criteria for the group stage standings. 
  • Knockout Stages: The knockout stages include 16 teams. The games in this round are a single game knockout with overtime deciding the winner in the case of a tie at the end of regulation. The last team standing at the end of the knockout stages (Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final) will be crowned the 2017 Eurobasket champion.
