10-man Levadiakos held to goalless draw by battling Lamia
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 10
|Levadiakos||0 - 0||Lamia|
Levadiakos were left frustrated after being held to a 0-0 home draw by Lamia on Monday in a tense final SuperLeague matchday 10 fixture which saw the Livadeia club finish the match with 10 players after Jackson Mendy was sent off.
Jose Anigo’s Levadiakos team, who have raised more than a few eyebrows with their excellent early-season form, went closest to scoring two minutes before half-time but Theodoros Tripotseris was denied by the woodwork.
The home side’s chances of getting a breakthrough were diminished in the 62nd minute when Mendy saw red after picking up a second booking, with the visitors putting pressure on as they chased a goal in the closing minutes.
Levadiakos remain sixth in the standings, but they are now level on 15 points with fifth-placed Panionios and are only five points behind league leaders Atromitos.
