Katerina Stefanidis has won the bronze medal in pole vaulting at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland. With a jump of 4.8 meters Stefanidis placed behind Americans Suhr and Morris.
Stefanidis cleared 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, and 4.8 meters on the first attempt and failed to clear 4.85 and 4.9 meters. Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou was also was in the competition but failed to make the podium with her best pole vault attempt at 4.6 meters. In the men’s pole vault Kostas Filippidis finished in 7th place with his best jump recorded at 5.65.
