Williams…And Playoffs

Darussafaka 84 - 86 Panathinaikos

With a clutch Elliot Williams Panathinaikos left it late in Turkey, earning an important win against Darussafaka 84–86 in the Euroleague Top 16. The Greens are now 8-4 and are well on their way to qualifying for the Euroleague Playoffs.

Panathinaikos was behind most of the game and with 30 seconds to play, down by three, Williams brought the score level at 84-84 with a great long range shot. With two seconds remaining Williams went to the free-throw line where he converted both free-throws to give Panathinaikos the 84-86 win. The leading scorer for the Greens was Raduljica with 21 points, followed by Williams and Feldeine with 19 and 12 points, respectively. Diamantidis had 5 assists and 8 points, climbing to 6th place as the all-time Euroleague scorer surpassing Nikola Vujcic with 2,450 points.

With and 8-4 record Panathinaikos is close to clinching a place in the Euroleague Playoffs. A win next week against Cedetiva or a loss tomorrow by Efes will mathematically clinch their place in the Playoffs.
