Despite being down 2-0, Uruguay was able to come-back and earn a point in Recife against Brazil for CONMEBOL World Cup 2018 Qualifying. Costa and Augusto where the scores for the home side while Cavani and Suarez found the net for the visitors. In other CONMEBOL action, Argentina and Colombia won away to Chile and Bolivia while Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela all drew.
A thrilling match in Recife as two of South America’s strongest teams met for Matchday 5 in CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying. Brazil opened the scored in the opening minute with Costa and in the 25th minute doubled their lead with Augusto. However, the Uruguayans were able to respond 5 minutes later with Cavani, before Suarez equalized at the beginning of the second half. The draw puts Uruguay in 2nd place with 10 points, behind Ecuador who has 13 points. Brazil and Argentina are tied with 8 points, while Colombia sits in 7th with 7 points.
