What an ending! Spanoulis hit an unbelievable 3-pointer at the buzzar and gave Olympiacos the 66-68 victory at the OAKA Stadium in the second game of the Greek A1 Basket League Playoff Finals! This was a very important win for the Erythrolefki since they tied the best of 5 series 1-1 and regained home court advantage.

The game was very close even up until the final seconds with both teams fighting for the lead in both halves. In the 4th quarter, with 8 seconds remaining, Panathinaikos was down by two until Diamantidis scored a 3-pointer, giving Panathinaikos a 66-65 lead. But it was Spanoulis who had the final say, hitting an unbelievable 3-pointer, off balanced, at the buzzar to give Olympiacos the 66-68 victory. The team ran to the locker-room to celebrate the important victory at the OAKA Stadium. The unthinkable shot by “Kill Bill is no surprise, as he has done this many times in his career for both Greece and Olympiacos. Printezis was the leading scorer for the visitors with 20 points and the hero Spanoulis had 11 points. Pappas led the home side with 12 points and Gist followed with 9 points.

Olympiacos lost their home court advantage after Panathinaikos defeated the Erythrolefki in Game 1 at the S.E.F. Stadium. With today’s victory, Olympiacos tied the best of 5 series 1-1 and re-gained their home court advantage. Game 3 will take place on May 26 in Piraeus.
