AEK defeated Aris 89–81 in Game 4 of the Greek Basket League Playoff 3rd place series and won the series 3-1. The Kitrinomavri finished 3rd in the Basket League for the first time in 12 years and are back to the elite of Greek Basketball!

AEK took a 2-0 lead in the series after a home and an away win against Aris. The Thessalonikiotes were victorious in Game 3 and continued to stay alive for Game 4. However, today at the OAKA Basketball Stadium, AEK clinched 3rd place in the Greek Basket League, defeating Aris 89-81. The home side took control of the game early and came away with the important victory. AEK finished in 3rd place, behind basketball giants Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, for the first time in 12 years. The third place finish has little meaning for next year’s European competitions as AEK has already agreed to play in the Eurocup (Euroleague’s 2nd tier Competition) while Aris will play in FIBA’s new competition, the Basketball Champions League.
