The Greek U17 National team has mathematically qualified for the second and final qualifying round (Elite Round) of Euro 2017. The Ethniki Paidon defeated Andorra 3-0, recording their second win from two matches in group play.

After defeating Kazakhstan 1-0 in their opening match of group play, Greece U17 made it 2 wins from 2 games after their 3-0 victory against Andorra. The National Team was clearly the better side in today’s match taking an early lead in the 8th minute through Meliopoulos. Five minutes later, Gkargkalatzidis doubled Greece’s lead and in the 52nd minute the same player converted a penalty to give Greece an easy 3-0 victory. 

The win puts Greece on six points in group 2 which mathematically secures their place in the next round of qualifying. On Thursday, Greece will face Ireland in the final match of group play with both teams perfect after two games. The two will fight for top spot in the group which will only be a moral booster for the winning side.

After Greece’s match against Ireland, the Ethniki Paidon will move onto the second and final qualifying round called the Elite Round, where they will hope to earn a spot in the Euro 2017 Final Tournament.
