Dominating Victory for Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos dominated Crvena Zvezda in the fourth round of the Euroleague Regular Season, defeating the Serbian side 70-59. A near perfect first half for the Trifylli, who went ahead by as many as 23-points, set the stage for an easy victory to go 3-1 in this year's Euroleague.

Panathinaikos hosted Crvena Zvezda at the OAKA Nick Galis Stadium for the fourth round of the Euroleague Regular Season. The hosts had a near perfect first half going up by as many as 23-points in the second quarter, a lead that proved decisive. In the second half, Panathinaikos kept their commanding advantage while Crvena Zvezda did not seem capable of making a comeback. Panathinaikos’ lead was slowly cut during in the fourth quarter, but the Trifylli held onto a double digit, 11-point victory (70-59) at the final buzzer. 

After scoring the winning shot in Bamberg, Nick Calathes led Panathinaikos’ charge once again finishing the game with 16 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Gist was the top scorer for the hosts with 17 points and River had 12 points. Panathinaikos' new boss, Xavi Pascual, was praised by the home fans in his first match in front of the Green supporters.

Today’s moves Panathinaikos to 3-1 in the Euroleague Regular Season. In Round 5, Panathinaikos will travel to play Anadolu Efes who is 1-3.
