-- Samaris Returns for Benfica --
Andreas Samaris returned from injury to make an appearance in Benfica's league match on Friday. Samaris has been sidelined for over a month and his return is not only good news for Benfica but also for the Greek National Team.
Andreas Samaris was subbed on in the 82nd minute in Benfica's 3-0 win against Ferreira. The Greek midfielder made his first appearance in over a month for the Portuguese club as an injury kept him off the pitch. Samaris’ teammate, Kostas Mitroglou, was in Benfica’s starting 11 and played for 82 minutes before being subbed off.
Samaris missed Greece’s two qualifiers against Cyprus and Estonia in October and it seems that he will be ready for the crucial qualifier against the Bosnia on November 13. Samaris’ return will bring a sigh of relief to Greek Coach Michael Skibbe as the Galanolefki has limited options in the central midfield the role.
