AEK 4 - 0 Levadiakos
Simoes 28'
Pekhart 50'
Galanopoulos 67'
Patito 80'

AEK put on very positive showing against Levadiakos after a bad string of results (and form), coming away with a 4-0 victory at the OAKA Stadium. The visitors were left with 10-men early on and AEK took full advantage of the extra man scoring four goals. Simoes opened the scoring in the first half and Pekhart, Galanopoulos, and Patito each added goals in the second half.

AEK took control of the game early on and things got much easier for the hosts in the 17th minute, when Levadiakos’ goalkeeper, Namasco, was sent off for a challenge on Pekhart (was the last man). Ten minutes later, AEK found the breakthrough when Simoes scored his first goal of the season with a clever back heel from Patito’s cross. The Kitrinomavri continued to dominate the game and comfortably held their lead going into the break.

In the second half, AEK sent their first warning with Galanopoulos’ shot (tremendous save from Moschonas) and minutes later, Pekhart doubled his side’s lead with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area. In the 67th minute, Galanopoulos converted a rebounded effort to give AEK a 3-0 lead and with ten minutes later, Almeida’s header hit the crossbar which turned into an assist for Patito, giving AEK the 4-0 victory.

Jose Morais will look to build on today’s result as AEK sit second in the Superleague standings tied with Xanthi (have a game in hand compared to Olympiacos and Panathinaikos). Next weekend, the Kitrinomavri will host a very good PAS Giannina side while Levadiakos will play at home to Panionios.
