Lamia remained unbeaten in this year’s Football League after defeating Kallithea 1-0 while Apollon Smyrnis and Aris sit in second after their wins over Panserraikos and Chania. OFI, Acharnaikos, Trikala, and Kissamikos defeated Panegialios, Agrotikos Asteras, Panthrakikos, and Aiginiakos while Panelefsiniakos and Sparti played to a 1-1 draw.

Lamia continued their impressive run in the Football League with a 1-0 win against Kallithea. The hosts were the better side in the 90 minutes of play and the only goal of the game was scored two minutes after the restart by Omo. The two teams were left with 10-men midway through the second half when Gjini and Ntourmisai were sent off with their second yellow cards on the night. The win keeps Lamia in first place of the Football League having won six games without conceding a goal!

Aris left it extremely late against Chania in their 2-1 victory in Thessaloniki. Zeris opened the scoring for the visitors in the 20th minute before Tatos equalized five minutes before the break. Kapnidis came through in the end for Aris scoring a goal in the first minute of second half stoppage time to give his side the 2-1 win. The result keeps Aris tied for second place (with Apollon Smyrnis), only two points behind the leaders Lamia. Highlights can be found here...

OFI ended 2016 on a high note after their 1-0 victory over Panegialios. Ogboe scored the only goal of the match in the 52nd minute, giving the Cretan side their fourth victory of the season. The win puts OFI in the top 5 heading into 2017 while Panegialios remain near the drop zone with five points from seven matches.

Apollon Smyrnis kept up with Lamia in the hunt for promotion after their 1-0 win against Panserraikos. Antonis Petropoulos scored his first goal for Apollon Smyrnis as his goal on 48 minutes separated the sides at the final whistle. Apollon Smyrnis remain two points behind the league leaders, Lamia.

Acharnaikos came away with an impressive 2-1 win at home against Agrotikos Asteras. Matsoukas scored a goal in either half for the hosts (45+1’ and 57’) while Taianan’s 72nd minute goal for the visitors was not enough for his side to earn anything from the game. Acharnaikos’ win puts them ahead of Agrotikos Asteras in the standings as they moved up to 14-points while their opponents remained on 13-points.

Sparti will be disappointed with a 1-1 draw on the road to bottom of the table Panelefsiniakos. The Lakones are in a mini slump after failing to win in their third consecutive fixture of league play. Iliopoulos gave the visitors the lead in the 27th minute and the hosts missed a great opportunity to equalize late in the first half with Siligardakis’ missed penalty in the 42nd minute. However, the hosts pulled level five minutes after the restart with Taupos’ goal as the team from Elefsina earned their FIRST point of the season while Sparti moved up to 11-points from seven matches.

Trikala continued their good form as they easily defeated Panthrakikos 3-0 at home. The hosts secured their victory in the first half where they scored two goals with Kouskounas in the 18th minute (also missed a penalty in the 32nd minute) and Leandro’s goal one minute before the break. Jackson added a third late in the second half. Trikala move up to 10-points in the standings after getting off to a slow start in league play while Panthrakikos sit on eight points.

In Crete, Kissamikos defeated Aiginiakos 1-0 with Tserkezos’ second half goal (57th minute) separating the sides at the final whistle. The win sends Kissamikos up to 10-points in the standings while Aiginiakos sit only one point above the relegation zone.
