Kolossos pulled off the big upset in Round 12 of the Greek Basket League by shocking AEK with an 86-73 victory. Panathinaikos and Olympiacos recorded easy wins over Rethymno and Prometheus before their midweek Euroleague encounters while PAOK barely escaped with a victory in Amaliada against Koroivos.

AEK put on their worst showing of the season and were defeated by Kolossos Rodou 86-73. Kolossos kept a slight lead for most of the match and an 11-0 run midway through the fourth quarter gave the islanders one of the biggest wins in their history. Relefrod, who played with an injury in the second half, was the leading scorer for Kolossos with 19-points while Reddick (13-points, 11-rebounds) and Vasilopoulos (11-points, 12-rebounds) finished the game with a double-double. AEK was without Ivanovic and Vasileiadis as no player stepped up to help the Kitrinomavri avoid the upset. It is AEK’s third loss of the season (after Olympiacos and Panathinaikos) bringing their record to 10-3 while Kolossos Rodou sit tied for 5th (with Aris) at 7-5. Highlights can be found here...

Panathinaikos blew out Rethymno 116-83 in the 12th round of the Greek Basket League to increase their record to 11-1. The Trifylli took over in the third quarter, outscoring their opponents 37-8 to come away with a rather easy victory over the Cretan side. Alessandro Gentile made his debut with the Prasini after his move from Armani Milano playing 18 minutes and scoring two points. Bourousis was the leading scorer for Panathinaikos with 23-points while Feldene (18-points), Singleton (16-points), James (13-points), Calathes (15-points, 7-assist), and Pappas (10-points) each finished the game with double digit points. Panathinaikos will play in the Euroleague during the week with a road trip to UNICS Kazan. Highlights can be found here...

Olympiacos had an easy job against Prometheus at the Stadio Eirinis kai Filias as they defeated the team from Patra 90-63. All 12 Olympiacos players scored in today’s game with Lojeski leading the Erythrolefki with 13-points while Agravanis added 11-points. The win keeps Olympiacos perfect with a 12-0 record while Prometheus sit just below a playoff spot with a 4-8 record. Olympiacos now prepare for a tough test in the Euroleague against Turkish side Fenerbahce. Highlights can be found here...

Koroivos and PAOK played to an entertaining match in Amaliada with PAOK barely escaping with the 80-82 victory. The Dikefalos tou Vorra came back from a 10-point deficit to earn their seventh win of the season. The hosts had a chance to win the game when Chrysikopoulos’ turnover allowed Milutinovic an open 3-pointer for the win, but his shot was way off as it missed the rim for an airball. The slim victory keeps PAOK in the top 6 of the standings while Koroivos move down to 3-9. Highlights can be found here...

An explosive offensive game from Aris gave them a comfortable 98-77 victory over Lavrio to move up to 8-4 in this year’s Greek Basket League. Four players finished the game with double digit points for Aris including Kavvadas (leading scorer with 20 points), Zaras (17 points), Cumming (17 points), and Dragicevic with 14 points.  Aris now sits 4th in the Basket League standings while Lavrio are one win above the relegation zone. Highlights can be found here...

Trikala came back from an 11-point deficit midway through the third quarter to come away with an extremely important 72-80 victory on the road over Doxa Lefkadas. The visitors outscored their opponents 12-29 in the fourth quarter to gain an advantage over their opponents in the fight for survival. Doxa Lefkadas now sit bottom of the table with a 2-10 record while Trikala move up to 3-9 along with Lavrio and Koroivos. Highlights can be found here...

Apollon Patras gained some breathing room in the bottom half of the table after their 75-60 victory over Kymi. The team from Patras are now 4-8 in this year’s Basket League while the “new boys” Kymi sit with a 5-7 record.
