Aris celebrated their second consecutive victory in this year’s Greek Football League by thrashing Kalloni 5-0. Aris was clearly the better side in the 90 minutes of play and opened the scoring in the 12th minute with Ilic’s first goal as an Aris player. The Thessaloniki club sealed all three points in the 74th minute when Tatos found the back of the net. Aris’ second goal gave them the confidence to increase the margin of victory as Kapnidis added a third two minutes and Bargan gave his side the 4-0 lead in the 80th minute. Tatos capped off a great night for the hosts with his goal from a freekick in the 88th minute. Aris’ first home win of the season brings them within two points of the league leaders Lamia and Apollon Smyrnis while Kalloni’s awful start to the season continues (one point from the first four matches).
The other match of the day saw Panserraikos come away with an important 0-1 victory on the road against Kallithea. The hosts saw most of the possession, but a late goal in the first half from Chatzidimitriou separated the sides at the final whistle. Kallithea remain on three points while Panserraikos jump up to seven points after four games.
