The Greek National Water Polo Team went 3 for 3 in the FINA World League Super-Final Group Stage and is rightfully classified as one of the favorites to win the competition. Greece defeated Australia 10-5 in the final group match and finished first Group A.
Greece registered another easy victory at the FINA World League Super-Final Group Stages and cruised to first place in Group A. After defeating Japan (15-7) and Italy (15-4), the National Team defeated Australia 10-5 in the final match of group play. Fountoulis, Mourikis, and Blachopoulos led the Galanolefki with two goals each.
As the top ranked team from Group A, Greece will play the fourth placed team from Group B, China, in the Quarter-Finals of the competition tomorrow. Serbia are the favorites to win the tournament with Greece and the United States expected to earn a medal at the Super-Final.
