- Ibarbo and Hult Follow Ivanov -
After completing their first move of the summer with Ivanov, Panathinaikos announced the signing of Victor Ibarbo and Niklas Hult. The Colombian striker and Swedish defender will wear the Green jersey next season and will join the team in pre-season training in Holland.
Victor Ibarbo signed with Panathinaikos on a one year loan deal from Cagliari. The deal will cost Panathinaikos €1 million, €700,000 for the loan and €300,000 bonus if Panathinaikos qualifies for the Europa League Group Stage. Ibarbo has been with Cagliari since 2011 but was loaned out to Roma, Watford, and Atletico Nacional since 2015. Over a period of 1.5 years, he has scored only one goal with Atletico Nacional. The striker has also represented the Colombian National Team on 15 occasions. He was apart of the Colombian team that reached the Quarter-Finals of the 2014 World Cup and was a starter in Colombia’s 3-0 win over Greece in the opening match of Group C at the World Cup in Brazil.
Panathinaikos’ third signing is Niklas Hult. The Swedish defender signed a 3-year deal with the club after a 2-year stay in France with Nice. The deal between the French side and Panathinaikos closed with a €300,000 transfer fee. The 26-year old is mostly a left back but can also play as a left winger. After 5 seasons with Elfsborg in Sweden he made the move to France with Nice, where he had 45 appearances and 2 goals in his two seasons with the club. Hult has played with all the national teams of Sweden and has 4 caps with the Men’s National Team. According to sportfm.gr, he is known for his speed and ability to play on the whole left side of the field.
