- Another Medal for Konstantinidis -
Thanasis Konstantinidis has won his second medal at the Rio Paralympic Games! After his gold medal in the Men’s Shot Put F32 category, the Greek athlete won the silver medal in the Men’s Club Throw F32 event.
Thanasis Konstantinidis became the 14th Greek athlete to win 2 medals at a single Paralympic Games after receiving the silver medal in the Men’s Club Throw F32 event. His best throw was registered at 33.69 meters. Konstantinidis lost the gold medal by only 22 centimeters after Maciej Sochal (Poland) recorded a throw of 36.91 meters on his final attempt. On Day 1 of the Paralympic Games, the Greek athlete from Thessaloniki won gold in the Men’s Shot Put F32 category and set a new world record.
Nikos Gonios (27.26 meters) and Dimitris Zisidis (22.24 meters) also competed in the event and finished in 5th and 6th place, respectively. Zisidis joined Konstantinidis on the podium in the Men’s Shot Put F32 category event where he won the bronze medal.
Konstantinidis adds the 9th medal to the Greek Paralympic Team, which includes 2 golds, 3 silver, and 4 bronze.
