Two goals from Lukaku helped Belgium earn an easy 0-3 victory in Cyprus in the opening game in World Cup Qualifying. Bosnia defeated Estonia 5-0.
The Cypriots looked nervous against the “stars” of Belgium and the visitors took an early lead in the 13th minute with Lukaku. Meunier’s shot was well saved by Panayi, but the ball ended up at Lukaku who headed it into the net for the opening goal. The game was put away in the 60th minute with a similar goal from the game’s only scorer. This time Carrasco’s shot was saved by Panayi and Lukaku headed the rebound in for his second goal of the night. The Cypriot defense once again gave up a “cheap” goal with Carrasco taking advantage of yet another rebound to give Belgium the 0-3 lead. The “Red Devils” had a chance for a 4th, but Panayi denied Batshuayi from the penalty spot.
In the other match in Group H, Bosnia emphatically defeated Estonia 5-0 and are the group leaders after matchday 1.
