Thrilling Comeback for OFI, Apollon Ease Past Kalloni

OFI pulled off another comeback this season as they defeated Acharnaikos while Apollon Smyrnis had no trouble away to Kalloni. Panegialios defeated Panthrakikos as the three other fixtures ended in a draw between Aiginiakos/Trikala, Kallithea/Sparti, and Kissamikos/Panelefsiniakos.

OFI pulled off an impressive second half comeback away to Acharnaikos, coming away with a 2-3 victory. The hosts went ahead 2-0 after Jefferson (2’) and Dagkaras’ (38’) first half goals. However, the Cretan side came out on a mission in the second 45 minutes of play with Milosavljev and Kosemidis bringing OFI level with their goals in the 49th and 57th minutes. OFI completed the thrilling comeback as Hysi found the back of the net in the second minute of stoppage time. OFI’s second win on the road this season brings them up to 20 points, tied with Aris (have a game less) while Acharnaikos fall to 6th with 14-points.

The league leaders, Apollon Smyrnis, had an easy fixture in Mytilene as they recorded a 1-4 win over Kalloni. Petropoulos found the back of the net once again for the visitors, opening the scoring in the 12th minute of play. Albanis added a second in the 31st minute before Siatravanis and Albanis gave Apollon a 0-4 lead in the second half. With four minutes to play, Frangos scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot for the hosts as they continue their disappointing start to the season. Kalloni remain second from bottom while Apollon Smyrnis move four points clear atop the standings (have played an extra game).

Trikala suffered another blow in their hopes for promotion after playing to a 2-2 draw away to Aiginiakos. The hosts went ahead 2-0 with Zguri and Gatsolari’s goals in the opening 32 minutes of play before Kouskounas pulled one back late in the first half. Giannitsanis was able to salvage a point for Trikala, finding the equalizer 11 minutes from time. Trikala are now 10-points off the pace for promotion while Aiginiakos lurk near the relegation zone.

Kallithea and Sparti played to an entertaining 2-2 draw in Athens. Smyrlis gave the hosts the lead in the 11th minute before Anastasakos pulled Sparti level 8 minutes later. Gini put Kallithea ahead going into the break with his late first half goal, but once again Sparti brought the game on level terms when Iliopoulos scored in the 65th minute. The results moves Sparti to 7th (tied with Panserraikos) while Kallithea remain in the relegation zone with 7 points.

Panegialios put on a great showing in their big 3-0 win over Panthrakikos. The hosts took a commanding lead in the first half with Skartsilas and Tsiligiris finding the back of the net in the 15th and 33rd minute. Bouzas capped off a great night for Panegialios with his goal 15 minutes after the restart.The two teams are tied for 11th in the standings with 11-points.

Kissamikos salvaged a point against bottom of the table Panelefsiniakos with Martinez’s goal in the 5th minute of second half stoppage time. Stamatakis shocked the hosts when he found the back of the net in the 17th minute, but it was not enough for the visitors to record their first win of the season. Panelefsiniakos remain in last place with only 3 points from 10 games while Kissamikos are midtable with 12 points.

The following matches were postponed due to poor weather conditions: Agrotikos Asteras/Aris, Anagennisi Karditsas/Chania, Panserraikos/Lamia.
