Jimenez Returns to AEK

-- Jimenez Returns to AEK --

AEK officially announced the return of Manolo Jimenez as manager of the club. The Spaniard will take over the Enosis after a 5.5 year absence.

As expected (reported by AGONAsport.com), Manolo Jimenez is the new man in charge at AEK. The Spanish manager signed a contract until the end of the season with a one year extension clause. He will replace Jose Morais who resigned from his position on Wednesday.

Manolo Jimenez began his coaching career in Sevilla, leading the club to the last 16 of the Champions League in 2010. After a 3-year spell with Sevilla (2007-2010), he came to AEK in October 2010 until October 2011. With the Kitrinomavri he celebrated the Greek Cup title in 2011. Since then, he has coached at Real Zaragoza (Spain) and Al-Rayyan in Qatar.

Jimenez will look to quickly turn the situation around at AEK as they have been in poor form of late, dropping points in multiple Superleague matches while falling to 6th in the standings.
