-- Iraklis Miss Chance to Move Out of Drop Zone --
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 11
|Iraklis||0 - 0||Kerkyra|
Iraklis missed out on the chance to move out of the relegation zone on Wednesday after failing to find a way past fellow strugglers Kerkyra in a goalless draw in their rearranged SuperLeague clash from Matchday 11.
The Thessaloniki club did manage to lift themselves off bottom spot - putting Veria there in the process - by picking up a point from the match at the Kaftanzoglio stadium, but they will look back on the result as one that got away.
The result saw Iraklis move level on 13 points with Veria, but ahead of their relegation rivals thanks to their superior head-to-head record. Both sides are just a single point adrift of the safety zone and will remain optimistic about staying up.
Chances were at a premium in a low key encounter between two sides who have struggled for goals and consistency this season, with the home side coming closest to scoring through Alexandros Kouros in the second half.
The best chance fell to Iraklis’ Leozinho just after the hour mark, but the Brazilian forward’s effort went off target when clean through on goal.
