-- PAOK Draw Xanthi With Attention on Schalke --
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 20

PAOK’s remarkable run of winning form finally came to an end on Sunday after their SuperLeague Matchday 20 clash with Xanthi ended all square in Pigadia.
The scoreboard was left untroubled on a frustrating evening for the visitors, who failed to produce the kind of performance which has seen them win 13 of their last 14 games.
Vladan Ivic made seven changes to the starting lineup that competed against Xanthi in midweek cup play (PAOK won 0-1). The PAOK manager rested many of his players knowing that an important clash is scheduled for Thursday against Schalke in the Europa League Round of 32.
Anticipation was high at the Xanthi Arena for this showdown between two of the championship’s high flyers, and the first big scoring chance was created by the visitors after eight minutes when Panagiotis Deligiannidis failed to convert when set-up by Stelios Kitsiou.
Xanthi answered through Pablo de Lucas’ snapshot from a good position three minutes late but the Spaniard was narrowly off target.
PAOK’s best chance came six minutes before half-time when striker Stefanos Athanasiadis was clean through on goal, but the out-of-form frontman fired straight at Xanthi goalkeeper Zivko Zivkovic.
PAOK remain in third place with 36 points as a result, two behind Panionios and 15 adrift of leaders and reigning champions Olympiacos. Xanthi continue to sit in the playoff spots and are fourth with 33 points.
