-- Samaris to Extend Contract with Benfica --
Andreas Samaris is set to extend his contract with Benfica until 2021.
Andreas Samaris was the number one favorite to transfer out from Benfica during the winter transfer season, however in the end the Greece international stayed with the Portuguese club. Rumors had him linked to a move to Russia for Zenit and on the final day of the transfer season, Benfica denied a 20 Million offer from Sunderland.
Samaris currently has a contract with Benfica until 2019 that includes a 45 Million transfer fee clause. According to "A Bola" from Portugal, Benfica and Samaris have reached an agreement to extend Samaris' contract with the club until 2021.
Samaris has lost his place in Benfica's starting lineup this season to former Olympiacos man Ljubomir Fejsa. Despite the contract extension, Samaris could be linked to a new club during the summer.
