Apollon Smyrnis are the winter champions of the Football League with their win over Chania while Lamia continued their road for the Superleague with a win over Sparti. OFI were also victorious along with Kalloni, Panserraikos, and Acharnaikos in matchday 16 of the Greek Football League.

Apollon Smyrnis were crowned the winter champions of the Greek Football League after their 1-4 win away to Chania. Dimitris Diamantopoulos scored twice for the visitors, reaching seven goals this season. Siatrvanis made it 0-3 for Apollon (72’) while Barbosa scored in his debut to make it 0-4 in the 76th minute. Chania, who sit in 8th place, scored a late consolation goal through Stamatis. Apollon and Lamia are tied with 40 points atop the standings, but with Apollon guaranteed three points against Panthrakikos (forfeit), Apollon Smyrnis mathematically claim the the title of winter champions.

Lamia joined Apollon Smyrnis atop the Football League standings after their 2-0 win over Sparti. Omolade scored his first goal for the club, finding the back of the net in the 15th minute, and the same player set up Vasilogiannis in the 77th minute to secure all three points for the hosts. The win moves Lamia six points clear of third placed Aris while Sparti sit in sixth place.

OFI returned to winning ways with a 5-0 thumping over Anagennisi Karditsas. Chanti opened the scoring in the 37th minute and Boateng doubled his side’s lead six minutes later. A second half hat-trick from Vouho gave OFI the emphatic victory as they sit in 5th place. Anagennisi remain four points clear of the relegation zone on 16 points.

Trikala saved a point at home against Kallithea with Leonardo’s goal in the third minute of stoppage time ending the match in a 2-2 draw. Giannitsanis opened the scoring for the hosts in the 47th minute before two quick goals from the visitors (Stamatakos and Smyrlis) gave Kallithea the 1-2 lead midway through the second half. The results leaves Trikala in seventh place while Kallithea are four points clear of the relegation zone, tied with Anagennisi Karditsas.

Kalloni earned an important three points in their fight to avoid the drop, defeating Agrotikos Asteras 1-0. Repetsas scored the only goal of the match in the 54th minute to give Kalloni their second win of the season while handing a blow to Agrotikos Asteras’ hopes for promotion. Kalloni are tied for 15th on 12 points while Agrotikos Asteras sit 4th with 29 points.

Panserraikos celebrated victory for the first time in 1.5 months, defeating Kissamikos 1-0 with Gourtsas 45th minute penalty separating the sides.  Despite falling behind, Acharnaikos scored three goals to defeated Aiginiakos 3-1 while Panelefsiniakos and Panegialios played to a goalless draw.

Aris were awarded all three points against Panthrakikos.
