-- Ideye Packing His Bags for China --
The millions from China are calling Ideye Brown… The Olympiacos forward has agreed to a deal with Chinese club Tianjin TEDA for an astronomical amount of €10 Million for a 3-year contract.
Ideye Brown will soon be a player of Chinese club Tianjin TEDA. The Nigerian forward has agreed to a 3-year contract with the club with his earnings expected to reach over €10 Million (€3.5 a year). Olympiacos will also put a hefty amount of money in the bank with the transfer fee rumored to be around €11 Million. Olympiacos bought Ideye from West Brom in 2015 for €5 Million and will see their investment double in just over a year and half.
The deal is expected to close within the coming days meaning that Ideye will not travel to Turkey for Olympiacos’ second leg matchup against Osmanlispor in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32. The Nigerian forward has had a great season with Olympiacos having scored 15 goals in 30 appearances.
According to sportfm.gr, Ideye said farewell to his current teammates stating that the offer from Tianjin TEDA was one that could not be passed up. In addition, his fellow countryman John Obi Mikel is currently a player of Tianjin TEDA which also influenced his decision to make a move to Asia.
The selling of Ideye means that Olympiacos will be left with two strikers for the rest of the season, Karim Ansarifard and Oscar Cardozo, as the club searches for a new number 9 over the summer.
