The Greek U17 National Team defeated Spain 1-0 in the second of three qualifiers for Euro 2017. The win moves Greece into second place of Group 3.

After an embarrassing 4-0 defeat against Portugal in the opening match of the Euro 2017 Elite Qualifying round, the Greek U17 National Team came away with an impressive 1-0 win over Spain in their second qualifier. Lyrantzis’ goal from the penalty spot in the 74th minute separated the sides at the final whistle.

The result, in conjunction with Portugal's 3-3 draw with Poland, moves Greece into second place of Group 3 with one match remaining. The Galanolefki will play last placed Poland on the final matchday while Portugal and Spain battle it out in the other group match.

With a win, Greece could claim top spot in the group, however a draw will suffice for Greece to claim second place as long as Spain does not defeat Portugal. The top team from each group will advance to the Euro 2017 Final tournament along with the seven best second placed teams from the eight qualifying groups.

The final matchday will take place on March 15.
