Anorthosis hosted Omonoia at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium in Larnaca. Omonoia had a golden opportunity early, as Jordi Gomez fired a shot on goal. Dimitris Demetriou made the save, the rebound came back to Gomez, but he headed it over the net. At the other end, Beka Mikeltadze had a shot, but Konstantinos Panagi made the routine stop on him. Fanos Katelaris struck a free kick hard, but Demetriou was up to it. Katelaris came again, and rang a shot off the crossbar. In stoppage time, Dimitris Kolovos tried to break the deadlock, but once again, Demetriou was there. Omonoia had the better of the play, but neither side could break through in the first half.

It left everything to play for in the second half. Nikos Englezou fired low, but Panagi saw it all the way. Kolovos made a nice run and pulled up for a shot, but it was blocked in front by Erwin Koffi before it could make it to Demetriou. It did go out for a corner, and Ioannis Kousoulos had a free header, but sent it wide. Koffi looked for Michal Duris at the other end, but Duris couldn’t connect and Panagi covered it up. Oliver Buff had a powerful strike, but Panagi sprawled out to make a great save. Insanity on the match’s final play. Gomez had a free kick from the side, Demetriou made the save, but the rebound came right to Kousoulos, his header hit the crossbar, touched the goal line, but it never crossed the line, and the Anorthosis defense cleared it out and the three whistles ended the match. It was a scoreless draw between Anorthosis and Omonoia. The point does the job for Anorthosis, they will indeed be among the top 6 and qualify for the playoffs. Omonoia did enough to stay alive, but with only one match remaining in the regular season, and 2 points behind 6th place Nea Salamina, they will need some help to make it.
